Marc Baltrons Fàbregas, born in 1998, commenced his formal saxophone education at the age of 5 at the Vidreres Music School in Catalunya, Spain.
He continued his studies at the Conservatori de Música Isaac Albéniz de Girona under the mentorship of David Salleras. Subsequently, he pursued his bachelor's degree at the Conservatori Superior del Liceu under the guidance of Professor Albert Julià Torné.
In September 2021, Marc moved to Basel to study at the Musik Akademie Basel, studying with Marcus Weiss. Concurrently, he pursued a minor in Contemporary Music, benefiting from instruction by notable figures such as Sarah Maria Sun and Yaron Deutsch.
Since relocating to Basel, Marc has dedicated himself to the exploration of new musical avenues, both as a soloist and within chamber ensembles.
His collaboration with esteemed composers including Mikel Urkiza, Balz Trümpy, and Simon Steen-Andersen has contributed to the enrich ment of his musical repertoire and insight. Marc has also had the privilege of performing alongside renowned conductors such as Enrico Pomarico.
Marc's commitment and talent have been recognized through various accolades and scholarships, including awards from institutions such as the Vontobel Stiftung, Melinda Sterhazy de Galanta, Rita Zimmermann Stiftung, and the music prize "Agrupació Mútua Assegurances" in Barcelona.
Furthermore, Marc has refined his skills through masterclasses conducted by distinguished saxophonists such as Timothy McAllister, Kenneth Tse, Lars Mlekusch, Nicolas Prost, Ángel Soria, and Xavier Larsson, each contributing to his professional development and proficiency.
